Murals on environmental themes will decorate the streets of Slutsk

6 murals on environmental issues will appear in Slutsk this year. Two of them have already been created – with red–book small spotted eagle and cranes over Slutchina – the grand opening of the latter was timed to coincide with the Day of Environmental Protection. Four more murals are next in line – with a nightingale (the official natural symbol of the Slutsk region), a badger, a recreation area on the shore of a reservoir and an astronaut against the background of our planet with the inscription “Earth is our common home, keep it clean.”

All murals are drawn according to sketches that participated in the regional sketch contest “Slutchina: a look through the centuries”. Funds for their creation were allocated by the Minsk Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection within the framework of information support, education, training and education in the field of environmental protection of the State Program “Environmental Protection and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources” for 2021-2025.

The created murals will help raise awareness of citizens about the diversity of flora and fauna of the Minsk region, including rare species of animals and plants included in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus.
