In pursuance of paragraph 6 of the Decision of the eighth Joint Meeting of the Boards of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Belarus, as well as for the purpose of implementing paragraph 23 of the Programme of Russian-Belarusian Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection and Rational Use of Natural Resources for 2024–2026, a meeting was held at the Centre with the participation of representatives of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation (Rosprirodnadzor), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, and the Centre for State Ecological Expertise. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus was represented by Vasily Kovalenko, Head of the State Ecological Expertise Department, and Oksana Belevich, Consultant of the State Ecological Expertise Department. The Centre for State Ecological Expertise was represented by Evgeny Rachevsky, Deputy Director for State Ecological Expertise, and Vladimir Gamezo, Deputy Head of the State Ecological Expertise Department.
The meeting was chaired by Tatyana Kuznetsova, Deputy Head of Rosprirodnadzor, and was held in the format of a video conference. It was dedicated to cooperation in the field of state ecological expertise.
During the meeting, representatives of Rosprirodnadzor shared their experience in automating the processes of organising and conducting state ecological expertise at the federal level. They also discussed the algorithm of interaction with customers, designers and construction expertise bodies, including through the use of digital solutions.
On behalf of the Centre, Vladimir Gamezo delivered a presentation and report on the exchange of experience in conducting state ecological expertise, including the use of digitalisation tools.
In order to develop the system of ecological expertise in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, as well as to strengthen practical cooperation, Vasily Kovalenko, Head of the State Ecological Expertise Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, proposed considering the possibility of conducting joint expert reviews and organising visits to facilities under construction and facilities being commissioned, with the involvement of specialists from both countries.
Such meetings contribute to strengthening professional cooperation, exchanging relevant and best practices, and developing cooperation between the relevant agencies of Russia and Belarus in the environmental field.
