Environmental Culture – Everyone’s Responsibility

Environmental protection begins long before we see a clean river, a preserved and well-maintained forest, or a landscaped area. It begins with knowledge, conscious choices, and an understanding of how our decisions and actions affect nature.

For professionals working in the field of environmental protection, a responsible attitude towards nature is an integral part of their professional activities. At the Centre, this is reflected in conducting the State Ecological Expertise, training and professional development of specialists. That is why the topic of the Unified Information Day, “Environmental Culture – Everyone’s Responsibility,” is particularly relevant and important to the Centre.

Ahead of the Unified Information Day, this important topic was discussed. Director Tatyana Dubik and Head of the State Ecological Expertise Department Yury Lugovtsov addressed their colleagues. The key message of the discussion was that environmental culture is shaped not only by government decisions, environmental protection measures, and the professional activities of specialists. It is also formed through the everyday behaviour of each individual.

Saving water and electricity, consuming resources responsibly, sorting waste, not leaving litter after spending time outdoors, taking part in the greening of local areas, choosing environmentally friendly means of transport, and taking responsibility for animals – all these simple actions gradually become positive habits.

The more responsibly we treat nature today, the greater our chances of preserving its richness for future generations!
