On 30 April, the Centre hosted a round table on the topic “On the Development of the System of ‘Green’ Public Procurement in the Republic of Belarus”.
The event was attended by representatives of the Youth Council under the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, the Institute of Legal Research, and other organisations.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the country’s environmental security, legal mechanisms for introducing “green” public procurement, and its role as a tool for stimulating green growth, taking into account international experience. Special attention was paid to the development of a draft resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus establishing requirements for “green” public procurement of certain types of goods.
As a result of the meeting, the participants outlined key areas for further work and expressed their readiness to develop practical solutions in this field.
